Mentor Graphics Solutions Expos in Europe

As an EDA technology leader Mentor is proud to offer insight into our Leading Solutions for Critical Design Areas. Our Solutions Expos will feature a wide variety of opportunities to learn about new technologies from Mentor and our partners. These will include presentations, user success and methodology papers, discussion forums, hands-on-tutorials and demonstrations. The events will be shaped around four key themes making it easy for attendees to focus on their main areas of interest. These are Functional Verification, PCB System Design, IC Design & Verification and FPGA Design. In all, Mentors Solutions Expos are the place to be updated on what's new in EDA technology and design productivity.

for the 2003 Solutions Expos.

Partner News
We would like to introduce a new Partners section for ModelSim Informant with important news from our VAP (Value Added Partners) and SVP (Silicon Vendor Partners). We will be introducing new integrations, additional ModelSim sign-off library support, and provide information on ASIC/SOC process technologies.

ModelSim is the industry's leading mixed-language HDL simulator. Our users heavily rely on certified sign-off VHDL and Verilog libraries for ModelSim from our SVP program. Additionally, they expect a qualified verification environment handling a mixed-language design style. Today, Model Technology works with over 30 Silicon Vendor Partners worldwide.

ModelSim with it's large install base is the centerpiece of our customers' verification flow. This combination is recognized by other competitive and non-competitive EDA vendors making it desirable to integrate their solutions with ModelSim for the benefit of our mutual customers. More information can be found in our VAP program section on our website.

Our combined solutions will give you increased productivity, improved design quality and innovative design solutions that lead to significant time-to-market advantages. Proven 3rd party integrations, qualified sign-off libraries and qualified mixed-language design environments are key deliverables from our partners.

Standards Corner
The Open SystemC™ Initiative has established a modeling platform and language that facilitates system-level co-design and IP exchange.
In May 2003, SystemC 2.0.1 was made publicly available and in June 2003, the SystemC 2.0.1 LRM was also made publicly available. For those who develop or share SystemC models, you will find the ModelSim 5.7 C/C++ debug environment allows you to efficiently debug mixed-HDL and SystemC design elements.
Download the SystemC LRM and the SystemC source code. Other groups have begun to leverage SystemC 2.0.1, such as the Open Core Protocol International Partnership (OCP-IP). They have defined a transaction level communication channel that can be found at their website. Visit here for more information on OCP-IP’s SystemC transaction level communication channel.
