Standards Corner
During DVCon the week of February 24th, there was discussion on simulation supplier support of the IEEE 1364 Verilog-2001 standard. Many hardware designers and consultants who helped develop the standard reviewed the progress the industry has made in support of this important standard. ModelSim's support of Verilog-2001 makes it the clear leader in implementation. A complete implementation of Verilog-2001's ASIC sign-off features was completed for ModelSim 5.5 version. This has led to one of the largest and most complete list of Verilog sign-off support from
Dennis Brophy, Director of Strategic Business Development
the semiconductor industry. Third party tool integration has been facilitated with the implementation of Verilog-2001's second-generation programming language interface, the Verilog Programming Interface, or VPI. And as the presentations by industry experts at DVCon show, ModelSim leads in the implementation of behavioral modeling productivity features. Find a full list of supported Verilog-2001 features in ModelSim. As the definition of the emerging SystemVerilog standard takes shape, all implementations of this third-generation of Verilog will be based on a completed implementation of Verilog-2001. It is this aggressive support of standards that is now making ModelSim the Verilog-2001 implementation standard and allows you to be the first to exploit the productivity features of this important standard.
