Standards Corner OSCI Complete TLM-2.0 Standard OSCI completed its transaction-level modeling standard, TLM-2.0. The TLM interface standard enables SystemC model interoperability and reuse at the transaction level, providing an essential ESL framework for architecture analysis, software development and performance analysis and hardware verification. TLM-2.0 is available for download at no cost to users at www.systemc.org. The kit comes with library source code implementation, robust documentation and detailed examples. Mentor's support for the TLM effort began at its inception, and we continue to demonstrate that support with a direct implementation in our verification products. - Dennis Brophy

Informant Spotlight: Find More Bugs with Advanced Verification This Lunch and Learn Seminar will review the various aspects of current verification problems and how leading edge Verification techniques such as Assertion Based Verification, Constrained Random, Coverage Driven Verification and Testbench Automation can increase your performance and productivity, taking ModelSim to the next level. These techniques can be applied both incrementally to existing verification environments and in a proactive manner to build an infrastructure capable of taking full advantage of these powerful concepts. Safety Critical Challenges and Solutions Seminar DO-254 is a recent standard that affects FPGA and ASIC design for the military and aerospace industries. While DO-254 is an FAA requirement, it reflects trends in good design practice to address the challenging needs of today’s safety-critical designs. DO-254 and these mission critical projects tend to be far more costly and challenging because failures of these designs cannot be tolerated and documentation requirements are substantially increased. This Lunch and Learn Seminar will include a brief overview of what DO-254 entails, the design flow requirements of DO-254, typical challenges, and how Mentor Graphics’ solutions can help you automate some of the more painful aspects of these flows. Following the presentation, a solutions demo will allow you to see firsthand how the Mentor tool set can help you meet both your DO-254 and quality objectives while improving the productivity of your flows and valuable resources.
